El nuevo Campus UCC Río Cuarto no solo representa una expansión geográfica; sino un signo del compromiso de nuestra universidad con una educación de calidad, inclusiva y transformadora. A través de este proyecto, la UCC reafirma su dedicación a la formación integral de sus estudiantes y su aporte al desarrollo de Río Cuarto y de toda esta región de la Argentina. Presidieron esta ceremonia la vicegobernadora de la Provincia de Córdoba, Myriam Prunotto; el intendente de la ciudad de Río Cuarto, Juan Manuel Llamosas; el intendente electo de esa ciudad, Guillermo De Rivas, el Obispo de Río Cuarto, Monseñor Adolfo Armando Uriona; el Provincial de la Provincia Jesuita Argentino-Uruguaya de la Compañía de Jesús, Rafael Velasco, y nuestro Rector, Andrés Aguerre. Otras autoridades que no pudieron estar presentes, entre ellos, el gobernador de la Provincia de Córdoba, Martín Llaryora, junto a ministros/as y funcionarios/as, hicieron llegar sus buenos augurios para todo el proyecto de la Universidad Católica de Córdoba en Río Cuarto. El intendente Juan Manuel Llamosas fue la primera autoridad en hacer uso de la palabra y dio la bienvenida a la UCC a la ciudad de Río Cuarto. "Es un día histórico para la ciudad. Con la llegada de la Universidad, nos abrimos a un futuro muy provechoso para Río Cuarto", comentó. Más adelante tuvo la palabra el Obispo de Río Cuarto, Monseñor Adolfo Uriona, quien destacó el rol fundamental de la educación, y dijo: "Brego para que en sus aulas se forme a las personas poniendo en el centro a Jesucristo". Acto seguido, el Arzobispo de Córdoba y Canciller de la Universidad Católica de Córdoba, Cardenal Ángel Rossi, destacó la misión de la Universidad de formar personas servidoras de los demás y del bien común y subrayó que “La excelencia es un medio, no un fin. El desafío es formar en excelencia para el servicio". Por su parte, Rafael Velasco destacó la importancia de que “el conocimiento intente dar respuesta a los que sufren. La Universidad debe encarnarse con los pobres". A su turno, el Rector de la UCC, expresó: "Hay un sueño que se va concretando. Y, para nosotros, es imposible separar los sueños de la gracia de Dios". Y proyectó que "El Campus UCC Río Cuarto es un acto de esperanza. Queremos, en lenguaje de San Ignacio, hacer el mayor bien posible". Además, adelantó que el edificio significará una inversión inicial de dos millones de dólares y que la primera etapa de la obra estaría lista para la segunda parte del 2025. Hasta entonces, las clases se impartirán en las instalaciones de un colegio de la ciudad de Río Cuarto. En relación al dictado de la carrera de Medicina, el Rector dijo que comenzará a impartirse en 2026, y que durante el año que viene, se realizará el proceso de preparación para los inscriptos. Finalizando los discursos, la Vicegobernadora de la Provincia de Córdoba, Myrian Prunotto, señaló: "Acercar la educación a cada rincón es, siempre, un camino de progreso: es el mejor camino. Por eso, nos pone felices la llegada de la prestigiosa UCC a la ciudad de Río Cuarto". A continuación, el obispo Mons. Adolfo Armando Uriona bendijo la piedra fundacional del nuevo Campus de la Universidad Católica de Córdoba en Río Cuarto.
