Estudió en la Facultad de Arquitectura de la Universidad Católica de Córdoba, donde egresó en 1985. A su vez es Doctor en Historia por la Facultad de Filosofía, Historia y Letras de la Universidad del Salvador (2005). Fue becario de la Secretaría de Ciencia y Técnica de la Universidad Nacional de Córdoba y del CONICET (Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas), bajo las direcciones de los arquitectos Rodolfo Gallardo, Marina Waisman y Alberto S. J. de Paula. Actualmente es Investigador Principal del CONICET con sede en la Unidad Ejecutora del Centro de Investigaciones y Estudios sobre Cultura y Sociedad (CIECS) – CONICET-UNC, donde dirige el programa «Antiguos Jesuitas en Iberoamérica». Hizo un postdoctorado con una beca de la Fundación Carolina de España, para realizar el proyecto “Relatos desde el exilio. Memoria de los jesuitas expulsos de la provincia de Paraguay” con sede en el CSIC (Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas) bajo la dirección del Dr. José Andrés-Gallego. Becario dos veces del Ministerio de Cultura de España e Investigador invitado del CNR (Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche de Italia) por el acuerdo internacional entre el CONICET y el CNR para realizar el proyecto «Italia-Argentina: ovverosia il Mediterraneo in Sudamerica. Storia, arte e cultura tra XVI e XXI secolo”. Profesor de posgrado en las maestrías de “Cultura Guaraní Jesuítica y Especialización en Cultura Guaraní Jesuítica” de la Facultad de Artes de la Universidad Nacional de Misiones y “Patrimonio artístico y cultura en Sudamérica colonial» de la Facultad de Filosofía y Letras de la Universidad de Buenos Aires.
